Reading is good.

If you're anything like me, you collect books. Lots of books. Sometimes you end up with multiple copies of the same book. Or books you don't want taking up space on your shelf and collecting dust. Or books someone gave you and you didn't like or want.
Well, have I got a solution for you! Portland Roasting is collecting books too, for a women's reading program in Papua New Guinea. You can drop off your excess books here. You're welcome.

Mmm...shortcaaaake.

June means fresh berries, which means fresh homestyle shortcake and yogurt parfaits. Which means I have a berry-stained grin. Come and get 'em while the gettin's good.

There can be only four

Sellwood Garden Tour

Sellwood Middle School's annual Garden Tour is this Sunday. It's the biggest fundraiser of the year and the forecast is sunny and 80. Tickets are $20 and get you access to 7 gardens in Sellwood and Garthwick. Do some good for the community and come down and get some. What are you waiting for? (At the very least, swing by the Marketplace at the school. The kids'll thank you.)
